Central European Summer Time Ends This Weekend; US Daylight Saving Time Ends One Week Later
Friday October 24, 2008
This Sunday morning, October 26, at 2 a.m., Central European Summer Time (what Americans call "Daylight Saving Time") ends in Amsterdam. Clocks will be set back one hour (i.e., to 1 a.m.) at this time.
The change could cause some confusion, as the United States will not end its Daylight Saving Time period until the following Sunday, November 2. So for one week Amsterdam will only be five hours ahead of the US Eastern Time Zone, instead of six. Be sure to set your watches!
