Seen the Kiefer & Rembrandt exhibit at the Rijksmuseum yet? The concept behind this innovative exhibit unites the best of Renaissance and modern art: the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam's major museum of pre-war art, asked the world-renowned German artist Anselm Kiefer for an artistic response to Rembrandt's beloved De Nachtwacht. The result, called La berceuse, will be on view at the Rijksmuseum until July 4.
At the same time, the Rijksmuseum will present a series of photos of the artist Anselm Kiefer himself, taken by Anton Corbijn. Corbijn, from the small town of Strijen in South Holland, is famed for his iconic black and white photos of popular musicians like U2, Depeche Mode and Joy Division, as well as his music video and films.
