'The Whale' Residence Building on Amsterdam's Sporenburg Peninsula

Seen here from Borneo Island, "The Whale" (located on Sporenburg) is based on a design by Frits van Dongen and was completed in 2000. The building's sloping roof lines and open center allow for maximum sunlight penetration. Zinc plates cover the Whale's exterior.
