After a short visit to the village of Nes, we headed back north to Ouderkerk aan de Amstel.
The church spire pictured here belongs to the St. Urbanus Kerk of this village (there are three churches by this name in the region). Built between 1865 and 1867, this St. Urbanus was designed by the famous P.J.H. Cuypers, who is also responsible for the designs of Amsterdam's Centraal Station and Rijksmuseum, as well as dozens of other churches in the Netherlands and Belgium.
