National Holidays in the Netherlands 2008-2012

Expect Closings and Limited Opening Hours in Amsterdam on These Days

By

The table below shows dates of official holidays in the Netherlands for the next five years. The name of the holiday for English-speakers appears in bold, while the Dutch name appears in smaller italics beneath it.

Expect banks and government offices (including post offices) in Amsterdam to be closed on these days. Some shops and restaurants may also close; those open will have abbreviated opening hours.

It's also worth saying that the Easter holidays and subsequent Pentecostal holidays are popular times for Dutch families (and those from many other European countries) to travel, so if you're plans include a road trip to several destinations, be prepared for plenty of fellow drivers and book your accommodations in advance.
