Where Did John Lennon and Yoko Ono Stage Their 1969 'Bed-in' in Amsterdam?

By Shannon McAllister, About.com

Question: Where Did John Lennon and Yoko Ono Stage Their 1969 'Bed-in' in Amsterdam?
Answer: Peace-loving musician John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono spent seven days of their 1969 honeymoon in the Amsterdam Hilton, where they staged the now famous "bed-in" for peace. From March 25 to 31, 1969, the couple made a pajama-clad plea for peace as the Vietnam War raged on.

The stunt in room 1902 (now 702) attracted journalists from all over the world, who were welcomed into the room each day for interviews. Some of the most instantly recognizable photographs of the couple are from this time; they sit amongst the sheets and pillows with hand-written signs reading "Hair Peace" and "Bed Peace" stuck to the Hilton's windows behind them.

The "John & Yoko Suite" (formerly the Presidential Suite) is available for booking, at a rate of € 1,750 per night.
