Perhaps one of the stranger qualities of the St. Nicolaas Boat Club is the somewhat old-fashioned process of signing up for a tour. There is a website, but no form for booking a reservation. The bookings operate on a first-come, first-served basis out of a black binder, located inside the Boom Chicago comedy theater on Leidseplein.

Walk into the theater's bar area, look for the binder by the window or ask an employee, grab the pen and sign up the old-school way: jot your name down where there's room. Then take note of your scheduled time and don't be late meeting the captain back at Boom Chicago. (Scroll down to see step 3 for information on cost.)
