From the Begijnhof, go back out to Spui. With the Esprit café on your left, cross busy Kalverstraat and later, the tram lines on Rokin. The street will change names from Langebrugsteeg to Grimburgwal. Immediately after you cross Nes, a long narrow street full of theaters, turn left into this impossibly cute alleyway, which got its name -- Gebed Zonder End, or "prayer without end" -- from the incessant whispers of prayers coming from the convents that once stood here.
