If you're not into antique books (most of which are in Dutch), step into the peaceful courtyard on the left, which is nestled between the law buildings of the University of Amsterdam. Inside you'll find a statue of Minerva and the busts of two Dutch theologians, Vossius and Baerleus. If you choose the side exit on the right, you'll pass behind several University of Amsterdam buildings and come to another seemingly hidden side street. Turn right to find the University student restaurant, the Atrium Mensa, a great place to sit on a nice day and watch the intellectual youth pass by.
